Twinning in Between the Storm
My collection is inspired by the distant but intimate relationship between me and my mother. I will always remember how she protected me from a storm of opposition and violence. She is like the tree of the family, like the tree in the fog, steady but strong. Courage and vulnerability ability are generated, exchanged between us and guide us through the storm of life despite time and distance. Ultimately, I want to capture this contradictory image of a woman, innocent with mature, fragile but resilient, always persuing freedom with a little stubborn.
Wanderer Above the Sea
Inspiration comes from a true story of how a Harley motorcycle rode over the Tsunami to find its way home. Objects sometimes communicate things that words don’t do justice for. From my perspective, this rusty motorcycle bearing scars was truly a tribute to the fresh wounds from the disaster.
